New York Mets owner Steve Cohen isn't happy with Steven Matz's camp for its actions during free-agency negotiations. The former Blue Jay ended up signing with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Cohen took to Twitter Wednesday morning claiming they did not stay true to their promise.that Matz and his agent reached out to the team saying that the Mets were his first choice as he had unfinished business with the team.

“Most relationships I have had with agents have been wonderful. The conversations have been good, they really have been. But here this was different. This was something so over the line," Cohen said. “I can’t imagine what the agent was thinking in the context of how they reached out to us and the reasons they wanted to come back. I have ever had an agent do that before with me.”

We will see how good Matz is without Pete Walker there to fix him when he gets broken. Again.

Because, the Mets. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Sound like serious sour grapes. Stop being a spoiled pompous - excuse mongering - elitist and simply close the deal. All’s fair in love, war and contract negotiations

What does he expect? That's free agency in a nutshell. There is no loyalty. Steve Cohen sounds like a baby.

Good for him soooo the blue jays wont have any pitching got it This is a big loss, i had more hope of Matz staying than Ray even if Ray is more desireable to keep i didn't think we could resign him. I said it a couple weeks ago (critics didn't agree) the Jays will likely need to work trades to improve the rotation maybe not they will
