For those who do not live along transit routes and have to drive partway regardless (rural residents or visitors to the city), are there park and rides in the city for people to get downtown? So far I’ve only noticed parking bans at/around major transit hubs. How does it work?

Downtown is empty now, they think people will still use public transit to get there. That will not happen many more businesses will need to close.
Another great way to save money for the city is canceling the LRT and accepting that its a failed venture. Increasing parking costs will further discourage people from going downtown not use transit

This won't result in more people taking buses and trains, it'll only reduce accessibility and hurt small businesses during a time of rising inflation. Expensive parking is not a solution for unreliable public transit.
