TORONTO -- A majority of Canadians say they are pessimistic about the outlook of the COVID-19 pandemic but support the federal government's response to the crisis, according to the latest survey from Nanos Research
Those in households of five or more, or who frequently check the news, are more likely to think the situation will worsen, the research firm reported. Nearly six-in-ten Canadians say they check news about the new novel coronavirus several times a day. To minimize bias, the survey's questions related to physical distancing and financial security asked respondents to comment about their neighbours, rather than themselves. Nanos said the responses should be considered a likely proxy for personal behaviour.
It also found that four in five Canadians believe their neighbours are strictly or "somewhat strictly" following health authorities' advice including avoiding crowded places, limiting non-essential gatherings and keeping a distance of at least 2 metres from others. Fewer than one-in-five think their neighbours are not following this guidance.
Provincial gov'ts and nurses are the heroes
Feds? The provinces are doing the heavy lifting thanks to the premiers
.If all the useless media every report are cases - then yes, it will sound worse. But, here are the cumulative cases in Canada. Notice the risk is flattening out. Does the media or Justin, or the public health officer tell you this? No.
....Duh!!!! If all they get from the liberal hack fear-mongering media is that kind of news, of course. A country of almost 40 million and we have 6,258 cases. Only 278 are in hospital. Perspective.
Nanos poll haha can I get the paper version we could use the toilet paper 🧻 positive op ed indeed
Many of those who felt differently are dropping like flies
Thank China for this miss. Boycott now

FayeGrim It will keep getting worse until more people take this seriously and start SelfIsolation + SocialDistancing
Our gutless 'Leader In Hiding' is a pathetic excuse. Is CTV going to continue to be clapping seals?
Willl be total carnage in the city with most becoming homeless
Yes we do.. except our leaders.. that's why on their list everything is essential.
It will get worse if people dont self isolate themselves. They are afraid of losing their jobs, their homes. The quarantine that the government HAD in place sounds like the best option for returning Canadians and those with the virus. JustinTrudeau GovCanHealth
The bell curves I'm seeing suggest it might actually be getting better. I'm not an expert by any means, but I think the MSM in Canada should stop its fear-mongering.
I must have the ones that don't care in my area, as lots of gatherings and house parties going on, and the municipality don't care about that.
I overheard someone the other day say the past 3 years they weren't even aware deputy PM existed, but was proud when they realized she was a woman. These are who are part of the voter pool, at least in Milton. Obviously you can tell in Milton. Ostrich culture. 🤮
