I must say that I was not surprised to read about the bullying incident that happened to the student at Whitney Pier and then Sydney Academy (

My son went to both of these schools, and fortunately was able to avoid bullying situations. However, I discovered through conversations with many parents that many students were not so lucky. It would take a very lengthy dissertation to recount all the incidents of bullying I heard articulated by many of these parents.

This cult of denial and lack of action was happening from the top involving school superintendents, administration staff responsible for student services and support and the school principals. What you would often hear is"we can't talk about this due to privacy," or"we are doing all we can."
