But those who oppose the bill say the restrictions will make it harder to access services in practice.

Though I didn't love learning French in elementary school, I respect Quebec's opinion that the language should be preserved. It's what's cool about Quebec.... 'diversity' - nice try old ladies....teach them French!
So many ways with which to preserve cultural heritage and language that do not entail pitting people against each other, but as good politicians, they choose to divide so while people are preoccupied with the topic at hand, they miss what is being done with the other hand.
Delivering medical services in French only is reckless language fascism that will kill people. That is a truly outrageous provision of this unnecessary but politically useful to Legault law. Fact - French is not dying in the province, and nor it is under threat of doing so.

Learning the language of the majority is a requirement that French-Canadians hors-Québec accept for themselves and would expect from others in Quebec.
