Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he hopes to see the federal government's aid package for the energy sector before the end of the week

Kenney was asked Tuesday on CTV Power Play when he's expecting the federal government to announce help for the energy sector.

The plunging oil price is a painful blow for the already struggling oil and gas sector, which has seen many Canadians — particularly in Alberta — lose their jobs. The economic situation in the province, which is deeply tied to the oil and gas sector, has led to bubbling tensions between Alberta and the federal government, with some residents calling for the province to increase its independence within the federation.

That should be interesting!!

So oil over education.

They may have more necessary problems to deal with like trying to protect Canadian lives

I hope he means green energy.. no more bail outs for poisonous fossil fuel

Did Climate Barbie just said they are meaning less?

Gonna be disappointed. Oil sector is not a priority

Whiner. Selfish. Not a true leader. Let’s focus first upon the people (the voters) before we subsidize your rich friends Jason.

I’m all for helping AB and SK get their shit to market, but there’s no market without the government (us) subsiding others use of these products. Not sustainable.

Our Alberta the most beautiful province in Canada. I am so very proud of her and the hard working people who live here.

People first. Small business second. Major corporations can fend for themselves, free market remember?

Geeeeee beating the drums of separation . That started this fire 🔥 over there . But now love begins part of Canada 🇨🇦 . When they are in dire straits . You think 🤔

Good luck , it’s on the way to the UN already

The Wexiters are almost as quiet as the anti-vaxxers are right now.

Capitulation to a dying sector will be embarrassing to all Canadians. If your industry isn’t viable why are you championing it? Not one legitimate economist would defend o&g bailouts.

Energy Sector? You mean the dying oil industry. The natural gas & electric companies are still taking my money and don’t need a bailout.

Change your name to Bombardier or SNC and you will get aid....

Let’s make sure our healthcare providers have PPE FIRST

Interesting how shovels ARE GOING in the ground April 1- Tomorrow !!! in Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Alberta. All in unison . Get is done Mr. Kenney ‼️

The Age of Petroleum is over. Petroleum will never be consumed again, as it has in the past. Petroleum's future is for use as a component for manufacturing. Like iron, copper, etc...... This is a person in extreme denial.

Don’t haul out the frying pan till you have the meat.

Isn't it funny ?

But he waited how long to release the provincial budget

Man, Alberta and the multi-billion $ Oil industry sure love handouts and socialism

The energy sector made obscene profits and now they want a bailout? They gouged consumers for decades. Alberta needs to start looking at other sectors to fund and expand to create more stable jobs. They hire fewer and fewer workers every year as they try to automate and kill jobs
