None of the things I’ve been making for years turned out well last year, so I am taking that as a sign to stop. Besides, as Janine says, you spend all that effort and it just gets eaten. I also have other suggestions; There should be store-bought baked goods that you can change a bit or add something to make you feel like you made it. If you have any good tricks, let me know.
What I would really go for is to give someone else the recipes for my family’s traditional goodies and have them do the baking. I could even supply the ingredients. Some could even be left for me to actually put in the oven so I could say I baked it myself. Then I could go on to say that it’s a recipe that’s been a family favourite for years or how my kids always loved helping to make them or how they were always popular in the cookie exchange. All of which would be true.
