On my route to work and back, not only was I delayed, I also felt intimidated by the vehicles with flags of various kinds, driving aggressively to and from their camp.Sign up to receive the daily top stories from the National Post, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.By clicking on the sign up button you consent to receive the above newsletter from Postmedia Network Inc. You are probably aware that those of us who live in the Ottawa-Gatineau region experience our communities as more unified than separated. For me to take two trips to Orleans on a weekend was not at all unusual until the convoy. On both the Saturday and the Sunday of the last weekend in January. I tried to get across the bridge from Wakefield to Orleans to see my mum. I was not successful either day. The police had closed the route. While I had just seen her on the Tuesday prior to that, I felt she was slipping away and I was concerned. So these people have taken something from me that I can never get back. My mum was a dedicated educator. She was my role model.

The illegal occupation of Ottawa stole my mum from me, stole from me the last moments of my mother’s life. I am grateful that the federal government stepped in to end it when local and provincial authorities could not. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.

Its an inquiry into the EA. The EA was invoked against the truckers. The EA accused the truckers of being a threat to national security. The EA was used illegimately; it was abused. The truckers/protestors were abused; they have the pre-eminent right to speak at this hearing.

Lmao, multiply that story 1000x due to lockdowns

So sorry

Yeah right …

I want to tell this woman to her face that many many more were unable to say goodbye to their family members due to the COVID restrictions

Ya love ones could visit grandma, grandpa due to vax status. People died in hospitals alone all over Canada. You could walk for 25 mins it visit. F for effort

Names of all officers should be made public ... they are equally responsible

Was that because of Covid restrictions?

And all the people who didn't have vaccine passport were banned from visiting anyone for any reason.

Covid did that to thousands.

Many people couldn't visit their dying loved ones due to the locks downs.

Sad, I sympathise. My kids couldn't visit me in hospital (after a fall) because of Covid panic.

Many people couldn’t visit their dying family members due to mask laws.

Executive accused of carrying Nazi flag to discredit Freedom Convoy denies being in OttawaAn Enterprise Canada executive accused of carrying a Nazi flag to discredit Freedom Convoy denies he was in Ottawa. Except there’s a photo. To bad the Commissioner is not letting the “witness” testify. 😡 to this. But we can all agree now that the RCMP know who it is and it's a left wing Ottawa resident that subverted the entire protest most likely paid by the LPC/NDP...?

Executive accused of carrying Nazi flag to discredit Freedom Convoy denies being in OttawaAn Enterprise Canada executive accused of carrying a Nazi flag to discredit Freedom Convoy denies he was in Ottawa. Except there’s a photo. Judges, lawyers and cops are proof that there is no rule of law in Canada. They do things that would put normal people in jail or have consequences. Local media has ignored this problem ruthlessly and helped these bad actors stay hidden. For example: He denies being in Ottawa January 2021. The convoy was January 2022

There was nothing going on in 2021... lol It was in 2022. 'oopsies' I guess! A report said credit card receipts showed he *was* in Ottawa. But is the report true? The accusation & his statement are news, but important is the truth.

CSIS director told Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act was 'required' to quell 'Freedom Convoy'CSIS\u0027 recommendation to invoke the Emergencies Act is a significant boost to the federal government’s case. But also admits many times that the list of legal thresholds were not met? 🤪 That testimony from the CSIS head gives good cover to PMJT for invoking of the E.A. Was necessary in order to violate rights and quash an otherwise legal protest. Fucking fascists.

CSIS director told Trudeau invoking the Emergencies Act was 'required' to quell Freedom ConvoyCSIS\u0027 recommendation to invoke the Emergencies Act is a significant boost to the federal government’s case. David Vigneault stated that “in his opinion”! In other words, if you hold a position in public administration you can express Opinions & thus suppress all civil rights, disregarding the law. Nice, oppress ppl just because your opinion is above the law.! The only thing the “ fake trucker” convoy had to do with freedom is it took the freedom away from real Canadians to travel freely in their capital city and cross the USA border. Oh and cost Canada billions! Don’t call it a freedom convoy. Look at his lying face.🙄
