Image of the Week: The world's best-known climate crusader made the Davos elite squirm, with the help of Indigenous activist Autumn Peltier. But is embarrassment enough?

This week, one year after her first appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, teenage climate firebrand Greta Thunberg took the stage once again. “I’ve been warned that telling people to panic about the climate crisis is a very dangerous thing to do,” she said, staring down her audience. “But don’t worry. It’s fine. Trust me. I’ve done this before, and I can assure you, it doesn’t lead to anything.

” The barbed joke earned too few tentative laughs, but set the tone for the rest of her speech, which exuded exasperation and disappointment instead of the anger and frustration that marked her instantly famous speech at the United Nations last September. This time, Thunberg was joined by Autumn Peltier, the 15-year-old clean-water activist from the Wiikwemkoong First Nation in northern Ontario.

No. What makes economic sense is what will be done. Greta has no concept of all the gears running an economy and she is to be pitied not praised.

Nope. It’s about money.

'Atta Girl' S!!!!! Remind them of thier mere humanity.

Do the Greta handlers, send all the media the points they want them to focus on in advance of all of Greta's appearances? Because it is very odd how eerily similar every single Greta article sounds, regardless of which of the hundreds of media outlets write the article.

Mnuchin advises Greta Thunberg to 'go study' economicsU.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Thursday advised climate activist Greta Thunberg, who has been bitterly critical of U.S. policy at the World Economic Forum, to study economics before giving out lessons. I’m really confused other than speaking what had she done ? I’m not trying to be mean I just don’t understand why this young lady got person of the year, i hope she and her family milk these people who is using her for there Owen agendas. I like Greta’s passion, but is she giving importance to her education? One can only go as far without education. It’s important that she does not abandon it! Why would economic considerations completely overwrite the interest of the preservation of the species? And more importantly the species?

Greta Thunberg should get an economics degree before she lectures leaders on climate change, Steven Mnuchin says‘Is she the chief economist? I’m confused … After she goes and studies economics in college, she can come back and explain that to us,’ U.S. Treasury Secretary said Steven Mnuchin should probably grow a heart before holding a cabinet position but I guess we're too late for that. Credentialism at its worst. Steve needs to learn about PR from Greta, so he doesn’t look like a cartoon villain. But then, he thinks it’s flattery. What's so newsworthy about this? He's correct and she shouldn't even be news.
