Canada's Governor General says COVID-19 will change society, but hopes it does so for the better.

Speaking to CTV News' Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lisa LaFlamme Wednesday on a CTV News special report, Julie Payette reminded Canadians that one day, there will be an "after" from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

When this is all over, she also hopes Canadians will walk away with a more clear understanding of who they can trust to share truthful, helpful information, and to "beware" of those that are promising miracle cures right now. As for the current situation, Payette acknowledge that everyone is being forced to make sacrifices. However, she reminded Canadians that we’re all in this together. She recommended Canadians make sure they’re taking care of themselves, reminding themselves of the positives — such as the thousands of Canadians who are recovering from the disease — and make sure they do activities to pass the time when things seem tough.

Payette did note, however, that things can get overwhelming from time to time. Drawing on her experience from her rather isolated time on the International Space Station, she said there are tricks her team learned for when being cooped up started to get to them.

Yeah it will.I can’t even imagine what the taxes will be like for generations to pay for this

Perhaps she should give it to the family of the pedestrian she killed.

if you mean we'll be abolishing the position of Governor General, that's fantastic news

Governor General...a useless position and a cost to the tax payer in this day and age.

This message brought to you by a total waste of tax payers money

Give this lady an award for her incredible thinking...

Oh gawd Another overpaid bureaucrat that milks taxpayers and is useless.

True !

The Social Distancing tool is a Government Deception to separate us, to dis-empower us. Systemic fear generation by Gov and it's long arm the MSM is the foundation of domination. One of the basic prerequisites which is fundamentally the conscious generation of neurotic anxiety.

We do not need this position!! Time to get into the 20th century!! By ppe’s with the money.

..it already has

The ghost has appeared GGJuliePayette

Tell that to the companies going bankrupt, and the people losing their homes.

Can’t help seeing Jim Norton everytime I see our Gov. General’s picture. JimNorton

Yes, life as we have known it has changed drastically.....things we took for granted has changed......we now have to look at Plan B....maybe it will be better ....certainly cannot be worst.....just saying...CANADA STRONG 🙏🇨🇦❤️

Out of touch. She has distanced herself far apart from the working class.

BURP

I doubt it will be for the better. The human race can't change like that. Greed, selfishness, bullying, closed mindedness, etc are inherent traits of only one species on the planet - humankind

Why the absolute hell would anyone care about what Julie Payette thinks? A member of the royal family with a real connection to the Queen should serve as GG. Some random from Quebec given a title to cut ribbons and shake hands? Who cares.

Hope the changes will reflect on more freedoms in our society and technology advances !!!

If that were a possibility there would have been no WW2.

Who is that?

Yes. It certainly will change it for the better. Already has 🌸

If she is wanting a socialist society I would say NO NO & NO!!!!!!

Yeah we didn't need all these old folks that poor Govt planning is killing off. Guess that is the Liberal agenda after all.

She is a useless wingnut!

For anyone wondering why we rarely see our ceremonial Governor General the answer is on her bookshelf. INeedMySpace

Hopefully some people will gain some perspective on the issues we need to pay more attention to.

If it drags on I doubt it. Nobody trusts nobody and the government is the biggest bullshitters of all

Oh, she’s still around?

Amazing a salary of 300,000 dollars and nothing to say...

Where has the Governor General been? Nice to see you FINALLY! I suspect you are still getting paid.....fiddling while Rome burns. Poor choice!!

Another waste of money.

based on all we have known on this virus,it surely changes the society forever and couldn't go back in foreseeable future until really working vaccine appears which might take years if not decades like HIV virus.wearing mask for everybody will be new norm.

Yeah that's not going to happen.

Get rid of this useless position!

Yeah. We will return to manufacturing and resource development.

NWO

Hopefully it will bring about respect for all human life

Where is this woman...hardly seems to do anything. Not like Michelle Jean.

Where has she been hiding?

Is she using astrology again.

Hope is a nice word.

Who ?

The insanity of telling people if you stand to close you will kill someone needs to stop. Hugs all round. Certainly not if you are not feeling well but connect. Weddings Christmas Sports Church. Do not let hysterical media rob you of your joy.

'Does so for the better'. Tunnel vission, ignorance. RESIGN.

People thrive on connection. Social distancing is madness. Wear a mask if you are sick. Enjoy your friends family and neighbors- go to a concert or sporting event. We are humans - we need community.

Canada's Govenor General states the first thing she will do when she is allowed out is to have a hair redo.

What a communist government!

Hopefully the basic hygiene courses should be mandatory and there should be fines for those who don't practice it, big fines

I'm sure it will humble & ground a lot of us. Make our faith stronger and help us appreciate life's small things more. I think anyway.

Would be nice if it does. In my opinion, especially for the environment.

Hopefully it will force a vote of nonconfidence
