A respected Canadian voice has taken up the cause of Canadian women and children being held under horrific conditions in Syrian detention camps who have little hope of returning home.

Ed Broadbent, the leader of the New Democratic Party from 1975 to 1989 and an elder statesman of human rights causes, is urging the Canadian government to take action and help the Canadian children stuck in the al-Hol refugee camp in eastern Syria.

“What is it about the children that has caused our government to be cruelly indifferent to their fate? The real test of political character is to defend rights when they are under threat by public opinion here at home.” CTV News has followed the cases of several women being held in al-Hol camp, including a young mother of three boys. CTV News has also profiled the efforts of a Canadian family in Toronto who say they’re struggling to bring their now-orphaned, four-year-old niece Amira to Canada.

Alexandra Bain, director of a Canadian organization called Families Against Violent Extremism , works with the relatives of at least 40 Canadians detained after the defeat of ISIS. He said those left in refugee camps often run the risk of becoming radicalized.

What about the children Trudeau has harmed?

You're pissing into the wind, Ed. Your beloved far-left, radicalized extremists have turned legitimate human rights causes and the Human Rights Commissions into a process that's now just used by people to attack other people for money. Thanks a lot.

What are they doing there in the first place ? Mmmmmm Ok sure “Canadian” Canadian children? How many full Canadian families left Canada to join ISIS? Zero? One? If a terrorist male leaves Canada and gets married and has kids as a member of ISIS in Syria, those are not Canadian kids, those are the kids of terrorists. Thanks but no thanks.

Singh promises clean drinking water for all First Nations communitiesNDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said if elected, his party would do whatever it takes to ensure clean drinking water for First Nations communities facing countless long-term water advisories. What in hell are they drinking NOW ? So why wouldn’t the First Nations live where there is developed land and clean water? 🤦‍♂️ What they need to do is hold the First Nations governments accountable for the housing that they give out. 40 years and houses around our town are still heaps of garbage. Unacceptable way to manage.
