The Flames won't have Travis Hamonic in the lineup when they return to the ice.

“While we will miss Travis in our lineup, we understand and respect his decision. Our focus remains on preparation for training camp and our upcoming series in the NHL Qualifying Round.”

In 50 games with Calgary this year, the 29-year-old scored three goals and added nine assists. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Cool respect his decision

I respect him for his decision. Family comes first.

He’s overrated anyway . No heart . Overpaid etc .

I thought they weren't allowed out of the bubble? And no one is allowed in, so why does family have anything to do with it? What's going on?

Mike_W_Simpson Any player opting out shouldn’t be playing in 20/21 the risks are going to change by November.

He knows the Flames won't win a game.

respect✊

That’s ONE!!!

Domino's gonna start falling

There’s going to be a lot more. It takes courage to be the first one
