Formula One announced an initiative on Monday aimed at tackling racism and encouraging more diversity within the series.

F1 said in a statement that “We Race As One” will also address issues surrounding inequality, sustainability and the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to four F1 races being cancelled and delayed the season's start from mid-March to July.

“We want our restart to show that as a sporting community we stand united against racism and we will do more to address inequality and diversity in F1,” the statement said. Hamilton is the only black driver in F1. He has spoken widely about racism in recent weeks after saying he was left feeling “so much anger, sadness and disbelief” following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis last month.

Defence leaders apologize for slow response to racism as Forces investigates memeCanada's top military and civilian defence officials have apologized not responding sooner to questions about systemic racism in the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces. Sorry, what? What about the systemic homophobia, sexual harassment, emotional and physical abuse and the lack of assistance for veterans? Will there be an apology coming for that? 25% of Canada is not white. So 25% of the soldiers (front line) that get sent to the next war should not be white. And 50% of troops should be women. Because white males make up 35% of Canada's population but seem to be disproportionately represented in Canada's war casualties.
