JOHN'S, N.L. — Emily Martin's music studio isn't just about teaching notes, but giving voice to emotions and stories, especially for those unheard.
Nestled in the centre of St. John's, Shine Music, Martin's studio, uniquely caters to children with disabilities, a mission that was born from her experience of witnessing people being turned away from a previous music studio. Her training expanded to encompass piano, guitar, and ukulele. Lessons became a sanctuary for nurturing her passions.
Her studio is an embodiment of what she sought during her formative years. With an attentive ear, she shapes lessons to fit the unique narrative of each student, encouraging self-exploration. “Emily is a capable teacher, using positive reinforcement well and building a wonderful teacher-student relationship. Maggie's progress with piano in just a couple of years speaks volumes. We’re thrilled to have found Emily and wholeheartedly recommend her.”Martin orchestrates lessons from the comfort of her own home, adeptly managing a roster of 50 students.
