The eight patients resided at the Seven Oaks long-term care home, located near Neilson and Ellesmere roads.
Lenore Bromley, a spokesperson for Toronto Public Health, said as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, there are 23 confirmed cases of the virus at the facility, including 14 residents and nine staff members. The news comes as an additional two deaths were reported at the Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon, bringing the total number of deaths linked to that facility to 15, including 14 residents and one spouse.
The province said Wednesday that there are currently 30 COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care homes in Ontario."We are very concerned about outbreaks in long-term care homes. That is a very, very vulnerable group of people that we need to protect, absolutely,”Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott said Wednesday.
2/2 Because our chief health office CPHO_Canada and fordnation JohnTory JustinTrudeau still thinks wear mask is no needed. Those healthy looking people already spreading the virus before they test result come back positive and before the syntoms show.
1/2 Because our chief health office CPHO_Canada and fordnation JohnTory JustinTrudeau still thinks wear mask is no needed. Enough is enough! The community spread are starting from this because again covid-19 is contagious during incubation period.
It’s people that bring it into the building. I bet they even have trade workers going into the building to work. Shut it down. Tuff screening.
The ASYMPTOMATIC can be contagious. Even if people feel fine and seem fine, they can pass it on to others and the most vulnerable amongst us will not make it. This is just outrageous. We need more testing.
If this virus is a person id beat it to death till every bone turns to particles and every ounce of blood has dried out from its veins. I am angry and mad that its killed thousands and yet, the country responsible for spreading this killer has not been held accountable.
Are they testing the workers?
Everyone who travelled the last month is selfish. Those who left after seeing what was going on but wanted a vacation anyways.
😢
Enough is enough! We have already lost 13 senior residents in Bobcaygeon, now Scarborough. Where is next? Why can't authorities think proactively. We need to proact, not react. Please take stronger measures to protect these most vulnerable people!
