An Edmonton man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of his mother may have been experiencing a "cannabis-induced" psychotic episode the night of the killing, court documents revealed Monday.
He later began screaming, making animalistic noises, talking nonsensically, and "exhibiting signs of erratic and anxious behavior." When police arrived, officers noted Dickout could be heard intermittently screaming and laughing hysterically from inside the house. He was sedated to be taken to hospital, and later during a transfer to Edmonton Police Service, officers said he continued to act strangely.
Clearly the people who think this cannot happen have no medical knowledge nor experienced first hand with a loved one. It does happen! Someone very close to me has had a cannabis induced psychosis! It was not fun to see or deal with. Do your research before saying it’s not real!
Probably laced with pcp.
Last time I smoked weed, I couldn’t remember what I was doing next....
Happy, hungry, sleepy, is all the effects anyone is getting out of cannabis & in that order. Unless this person purchased black market cannabis likely laced with some drug.
Weak reporting
TOTAL BULLSHIT
Fear mongering by fake news.
I hope no one thinks that is an excuse for murder!
That is absolutely rediculous
Cannabis induced psychosis? Get real.
Lies bullshit

He was woke and his childhood was not nice.
2 years ago my brother was diagnosised with cannibis induced psychosis & hospitized for 6 wks, after being arrested for inappropriate behaviour to a minor. He lost custody of his son for 6 mos. We have a family history of mental illness which increases the risk of this disorder.
Bullshit
Was his cannabis spiked with PCP?
I wish people would do their research. This is a real thing. Not everyone is susceptible, but it cannabis induced psychosis is real, and it ruins lives.
I'm just spit balling here, but maybe it was a meth pipe!?!
Impossible actually, unless it was laced with something else
I work as a nurse in psychiatry. Yes people predisposed to mental illness can end up in full blown psychosis. But ppl murder others when drunk or on prescribed meds as well. Obviously cases like this exist but it doesn’t happen to everyone. Should pot stay legal? Yes.
I have never heard of cannabis ever causing someone to kill another person. Sounds like a scapegoat to me.
Let me guess, you are shorting marijuana stocks on the TSX, IDIOTS!
And the dog ate my homework!
Wow. Look at all the medical experts, mental health professionals and all around geniuses posting here on Twitter this morning.

Well isn’t pot perfectly save ? That’s what Trudeau said !

It was not because of cannabis, don't incite fear. Clearly other issues present, may have been brought out by but not because of

Cannabis induced psychosis? Ya right. Don’t blame it on the weed man!
That’s a fake. Not possible. The crown had better not let the defendant use that lame excuse. He knew exactly of what he was as doing.
Maybe fent or meth! Pot for pizza!!!!
