Eating bugs? Not a bad idea if you can get past the ‘yuck’ factor, experts say

Would you eat bugs? It all depends on how they're marketed, say experts, because the health benefits of eating certain types of insects are hard to deny.

The bugs-as-protein industry is on the rise, experts say, as long as people can get past the “yuck” factor. Would you eat bugs for their health benefits or to cut your carbon footprint? READ MORE:

Would you eat bugs? It all depends on how they're marketed, say experts, because the health benefits of eating certain types of insects are hard to deny.

Drysdale, whose crickets are grown specifically for human consumption at an Ontario lab, said they’re fed an organic, gluten-free chicken feed, and that people would be shocked at how clean the facility, and the crickets, actually are.Drysdale said his business has been growing by leaps and bounds, to the point where he’s working on a re-brand before a big launch in the United States.

“We’re not hiding the fact that we have crickets in there, obviously, but we’re more focusing on the benefits and the features of the product than the ingredients themselves.”“I firmly believe that what’s going on in Winnipeg for example with all the investments in vegetable protein is a big, big, big alternative,” he said.

Never Never Nope. I’ll stick to red meat. Are you kidding? Eat bugs, reduce your footprint. 🙄🙄 CoronavirusOutbreak I prefer a huge carbon footprint! Maybe if Canazuela really kicks into gear (like it's promising so far), I might not have a choice to eat them (if I want to stay alive). Otherwise no. I'm happy to let Justin Trudeau, Catherine McKenna and their families enjoy overflowing platters of the plump & juicy insects.

Watch Marvel movies, live in a pod, and eat your bugs bigot! Theyre getting everyone ready for poverty. The 1% will eat meat. The rest wil eat insects. Canada is in for some big surprises. If you dont know what I mean, take a trip to your nearest sidewalk. Get ready for hundreds of thousands more and then millions more.

Under socialism all that is affordable left to eat is bugs. We are getting prepped.

Butcher Chef boutique steakhouse takes eating meat to the next level of fine dining‘We’re trying to raise the bar…. We create tasting menus where you can have a seven course meal and try not just steak, but rabbit, pheasant, duck’

officially dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know what you people will be eating cause you'll be out of a job We might not get the choice.....this may become the only option. 🤦‍♂️ Frank’s red hot. If it didnt look like the pic above sure id try Eating stuff like this, did it not cause the coronavirus? Eating Bats? Who knows what bugs or wild stuff like that carry!!

Gross. Not as long as there's chicken on the menu but if soylent greens the only other option mealworms aren't so bad What !! Not a single vegan crying about the insects right to live, they are living creatures and have rights too I look at it this way, do you eat Shrimps? They're basically sea bugs.

Are we really … eating less meat? Maybe, but it’s not for the reason you thinkA decades-long slump in consumption is much more complicated than the swirl of headlines about pea-protein burgers causing the death of meat

Cricket protein powder and bars exist and make the product a bit more palatable Preach to Africa and the Locust problem, not here. And this is how another virus is going to start. Eat the bugs Honestly I don’t care about my carbon foot print. When all the cows/chicken/salmon in the world are gone, then I’ll eat the bugs.

🤢🤮🤮 I kinda like being at the top of the food chain. If others want to eat bugs, more power to them and more beef for me. I've had snacks made of cricket powder and it was actually delicious. As long it doesn't look like the picture above, I think its doable. Quit spreading garbage - eat bugs - would rather not (never)

Former Empire actor Jussie Smollett pleads not guilty to restored chargesSmollett is accused of staging a racist, homophobic attack against himself last year in Chicago and then falsely reporting that the phony attack was real I do not like this guy. But I though you couldn't be charged twice with the same crime. Wasn't he already formally cleared of all charges by a friend of HRC? Dave nails it! 😂😂😂

That’s a slippery slope I imagine. Pretty soon it’s bat soup, shark fins, and 3 squeak dinners. I think I threw up in my mouth a little. Termites produce more CO2 than humans. Beef cattle are a carbon sink that convert plants to meat and store it until we need it. They eat plants that convert CO2 to food for cattle or humans and store the carbon until we need it for consumption.

well you can technically consider 0 to 0000000000.1% “on the rise” good luck with the narrative, I’ll have my dead cow We already eat lobsters and crabs and shrimp ... Apparently sea bugs are fine. Some things wouldn't bother me. Scorpions on a stick looked yummy. But probably best to make bug based products, instead of trying to get people to eat individual insects.

Why do this when we could go for 3d printed protien sources(SPACE MEAT) as a supplement to properly grown fruits, veggies, and grains? This just seems like a 'Real food for the rich, bugs for the FILTHY POORS!' kinda thing. It’s like a debate on eating wild exotic animals eek 😬 no way! You can buy cricket powder in the store.

Jussie Smollett pleads not guilty to new charges that he lied to policeThe most recent set of charges claim the former Empire star made four false police reports following his initial declaration that he was attacked on Jan. 29, 2019, in Chicago. He's guilty on all counts! Disgraceful how let him off so easy at first. His privilege has helped him avoid jail time He should be made to pay for his deliberate actions to worsen race relations with false accusations of racist violence for his own vanity. This is an outrage.

Canadian doctor warns world 'simply not ready' for COVID-19 after China visitA prominent Canadian doctor who just returned from an experts’ mission in China to study the novel coronavirus outbreak praised the country’s ‘aggressive’ response and advised the rest of the world to take heed. Our officials already said they wont lock down regions if it came to it so we'll just let it spread I'm sure And what's the likelihood the CCP either bribed him or threatened them to say that? High. It's High. Canada can't even get some terrorists off the railroad tracks, how do you think our government will deal with a bug? They'll sit by and let it ravage the populace like they do with everything else. CanadaIsBroken
