The Dolphins released running back Mark Walton, saying he has been involved in an unspecified police matter.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The Miami Dolphins released suspended running back Mark Walton on Tuesday, hours after he was arrested on charges of punching his pregnant girlfriend in the head.

His defence attorney, Mark A. Gottlieb, declined comment and his contract representatives, First Round Management, did not immediately return a call seeking comment. The Dolphins signed Walton in May, one month after the Cincinnati Bengals released him because of the earlier arrests.
