Stretched beyond the number of beds available, Grand River Hospital in Kitchener is once again dealing with 'hallway medicine' as patients waiting for a bed are treated in the hall.

Despite the addition of a small hospital’s worth of new beds during the COVID-19 pandemic, Grand River Hospital (GRH) is once again dealing with hallway medicine. So are hospitals across Waterloo region and Wellington County.

Despite the addition of a small hospital's worth of new beds during the COVID-19 pandemic, Grand River Hospital (GRH) is once again dealing with so-called "hallway medicine," where there aren't enough beds available for incoming patients so they are parked on stretchers and gurneys in various hallways.

Oh great, one hospital to tell it all Welcome to the state of Toronto hospitals for the last decade. Time for a health tax on smokers, drinkers and the obese. Anytime you go to Emergency it's a 4 hr minimum wait. This is just more telling of the state of the medical system in general Stop treating the unvaccinated for Covid, and much of this problem is mitigated.

Lack of forsite by the governments in Canada over the years has gotten us where we are today with healthcare facilities, no political will to put money where needed only where it gets the most votes or personal benefits. Overcapacity in hospitals is not new. In 1985 Canada had 7 Hospital beds per 100,000 Canadians, today we have 2.5 per 100,000. If only there was some way to have foreseen this.

It will get even worse this decade. The number of people over 85 quadruples from 2011 to 2031. Maybe your hospital should have expanded as the population of the city has. There's a problem with the infection of torontonians into kw. Where are the better vaccines like Novavax, Corbevax, and Medicago? Nobody wants to be a lab rat for Pfizer.

10 years ago I waited in the hallway on a bed with an i.v. for 2 days in Credit Valley Mississauga. Nothing has changed Oh that can’t be. It’s mild. People aren’t getting sick from it. This is the garbage I keep hearing from confirmed anti vaxers.
