Alberta’s “fair deal” panel is drawing criticism from a business organization and from a politician who studied similar ideas the last time the province’s anger was running high.
She said any of these measures would cost the province money to set up and create a regulatory burden on businesses going forward. “We need to go further with how do we as a country, get to a place where we are working on reducing GHG emissions globally, as opposed to just reducing our emissions.” Former Progressive Conservative MLA Doug Griffiths was on the committee and said none of the ideas hold up to scrutiny.
Would you rather have big government in Ottawa or in Alberta? One of the sectors we are lacking in our economy is federal government, all that money goes east and doesn't come back. Also, carbon taxes? Seriously?

so....Chamber of Commerce head hates the idea of 'fair deal' resulting in Big Government intrusion and costs and instead suggests more CARBON TAXES?
Interesting, my experience with Chambers is this is not how they respond...CalgaryChamber...typically they poll their members for feedback before pronouncing on any major issue...unless the Chamber head is speaking without the approval of members...now that would be bad.
