Province files suit against penthouse party host

Vancouver police obtained a search warrant for Movassaghi’s penthouse at 777 Richards and found $8,740 that the government says came from illegal liquor sales.

Police found “COVID-19 Waiver forms” that some party attendees had signed, the statement of claim says. On April 28, Movassaghi was sentenced to a day in jail, a $5,000 fine and 18 months’ probation after pleading guilty to disobeying a court order, failing to comply with a health officer’s order, and unlawfully purchasing grain alcohol.
