"Like, ‘Check that box off,"’ Shero said. "I guess that’s good."
New Jersey traded for a top-pairing defenceman in Subban, won the draft lottery to select centre Jack Hughes first overall and signed winger Wayne Simmonds . "Obviously some of the things that we’ve done prove that we want to improve the hockey team not just for Taylor Hall but for our team," Shero said. "My job is to obviously build the best team I can for the short and long term and also when it comes to dealing with players and relationships to sit down with them and explain to them as to what we’re doing and I want them to be aware of it.
No single player is more important to the Devils’ success than Hall, who carried them into the playoffs two seasons ago with 93 points and whose injury derailed any hopes of contending in 2018-19. The 27-year-old who spent his first six NHL seasons in Edmonton doesn’t want to commit until he thinks the mix in New Jersey could be enough to win a championship.
Eff sakes can’t believe I’m gonna say it, sign back with Edmonton. There was nothing right about that trade, was not meant to be. chiarelli
Great players get their teams to playoffs and win !! justsaying
What playoff team can afford the salary he’s gonna demand ? I’d spend it on marner all day instead of waiting to land hall
Sounds like he been talking to kawhi

Ten million for a player that has played almost no full seasons due to injury. Sorry but I would pass. His injuries aren’t going to stop happening as he gets older.
How much to play in TO :)
NJ should move him. Retain 50%. Should get a huge return for a “full year” of Hall at 3mil.
The sad thing is how many times his team has won the lottery, and still.......
Jay_VT LOL
Ouch! Profound
You think this negotiation will be easy? Go look up who his agent is.
Says more about him than the teams he has been on he is supposed to be the franchise player
It's only July 15. Slow news cycle?
Hope he leaves and his new team turns out to be trash. No better feeling than seeing them leave and fail
Lol he's either staying or getting traded. It's an easy decision
FAN590 Could we interest him in returning to Edmonton? 😉🤔
At this point, it would surprise me if Hall didn't test the UFA waters next off season. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that the next time the Devils hoist the Stanley Cup, Hall won't be a part of it.
Taylor Hall has a decision to make *before* the coming NHL season. fixed it for you

He could go to the best team possible and still not win the cup. Look at St. Louis this year. Have a feeling he will be leaving tho, hopefullly via trade
Uh, Taylor? You DID play on the best team possible...
He’s gone unless NJ makes a run this year. Hall is being pretty overt about this.
He won’t stay, money isn’t the issue and I still think they’re not a solid playoff team. He’s going to a contender after next season
And if he stays (as I hope), he'll need to stay healthy.
