The Conservatives accused the Liberals of poisoning the investment climate in Canada due to inaction over the blockades and other energy policies

OTTAWA — Conservative MPs slammed the Liberal government on Monday over the revelation Warren Buffett’s company has pulled out of a $9-billion Quebec liquid natural gas project, with the company building the project saying political instability is to blame.

Last week, Quebec newspaper La Presse revealed Berkshire Hathaway had bailed on a proposed $4-billion stake in the project in the Saguenay region, 230 kilometres northeast of Quebec City. The project would see a new pipeline extended across Quebec and a marine terminal built to export natural gas from Western Canada.

“Berkshire Hathaway, one of the most influential investment firms, is abandoning an energy project in Quebec because of the political instability created by the prime minister,” said Leona Alleslev, the Conservative deputy leader. “We know that investors all around the world are looking for projects that find that balance between economic growth and giving them return on their investment, while also putting in place sustainable methods by which to do that,” Schiefke said. He added in French that he’s convinced the “rigorous process” of the environmental reviews will be what determines whether the project is built.

Over the last month, a clear signal has been sent to businesses across Canada that the rule of law will not be upheld

Liberal Party aka Chamberlain clones

Why aren't we hearing from Trudeau? We have to listen to a his second fiddle. Please we need our leader back Harper.

Lying through their teeth.

I don’t know how the Liberals can stand up and say such things with a straight face.

Buffett can't make money with energy prices tanking. Capitalism.

Dear Ms Freeland; could you perhaps describe your definition of the word “strong”? I’m hoping that it isn’t similar to your definition of “middle class”

globalsugarwar 🤣🤣🤣

You can’t say that with any confidence can you? Liberals cdnpoli

Just because you say something doesn't make it true...I could claim to be a millionaire..😪

What? Sector is strong!!!! You fucking kidding me. What's strong about it? Look at the stocks in this sector. Any of them doing well over the past 5 years? Nope - CVE, HSE, IMO, need more? Investment will be nonexistent soon with the losses of Teck and Encana. Strong, WTF.

There is an old sailors adage that goes something like this “if the rats flee a sinking ship, she’s going down”. In my mind, the conservatives are right.

Liberals are idiots.

we need an intervention now... a fall election.

The guy in the photo left of Christia Freeland kind of looks a little bit like a younger George Soros

National post, what kind of headline is that? NP: they said this, then they said that. Don’t be afraid to say the truth. You are journalists for god sakes. Get data, report it. State it as fact. The data is there. Yes, the liberals have fked us sideways. Everyone knows this.

Of course the sector is strong... everywhere but in Canada.

trudeau and his band of jacobin communists imposing their REIGN OF TERROR ON Canada

The sector is strong....strong enough for the liberals to buy floundering oil projects. Lol

Liberals live in an alternative universe.

Whose the smartest investor in the world right now? How many hundreds of Millions of dollars would Warren have lost after today?

On the day Russia and OPEC start a price war, the National Post still thinks the Canadian Government controls the price of oil, and forgets decades of conservative ineptitude, provincially and federally.

Are they kidding 😆😆😆

And what about the $$$ 70 BILLIONS BLACK HOLE LEFT TO THE ALBERTA FARMERS

guess we're about to find out who is right...sunny ways or the real world

Liberals poised to legislate a ban on conversion therapyThe Liberal government is poised to introduce a bill that would outlaw therapy intended to alter a person's sexual orientation or gender identity. In your news report you mentioned only that the government was banning 'conversion therapy' because it doesn't work. It isn't being banned because it is fraudulent. (Although it is). The government is banning it because it is horrendously abusive cdnpoli LPC LBGTQ We are about equality, right? Then they also need to ban gender conversions. What? You mean gender confusion is not 'our strength' like diversity is? Shocking that personal diversity - to be multiple genders at will - would be banned, denying Canada its empowering diversification.
