Opinion in this country is tiring of this endless and grating campaign of abuse and provocations being conducted by some fringe leaders

The saga of Sen. Lynn Beyak is a distressing exposé of the tyrannical abuses of the Indigenous victimhood industry. I am respectful of Indigenous people; I believe the Indigenous community has many legitimate grievances that Canada must work very diligently to resolve satisfactorily and to redress. The historical fact of the conquest of North America by technologically more advanced European countries was in many ways a disaster for those already here. No one contests this.

The residential schools, mainly operated by Christian churches for much of the 19th and part of the 20th century, have been represented by many Native leaders, to the credulity of the Canadian state and media, as virtual concentration camps designed to break up Native families, extirpate Native culture and sadistically torment and exploit the Native children.

This brings us to the outrageous treatment of Sen. Lynn Beyak, from Dryden, Ont., an area with a large native population; she has had extensive experience with Natives all her life.

There is always a new crisis to take the place if the last

Mr Black, they have been suffering for 25 years and counting in some reserves, with undrinkable contaminated water.

A minority should never rule the majority.

Groups shouldn't use their minority status to get what they want - especially Indians . They already get too much given to them by the federal government

Co rad is a criminal! No one cadres WHAST he has to sayu!

ConradMBlack OK, Boomer... Just because you say it doesn’t make it so...

It’s already happened. fatigue

We are all suffering. The language and percepts from both sides are coming from two different world views and each sides comments of the situations sounds like nonsense. Two different languages: two solitudes

ConradMBlack Were the indigenous cultures stewards of the environment when they wiped out the beaver and buffalo populations. We are all human with our own warts.

Agreed

It's ironic that will ' all ' the first nations peoples in Canada, where just hearing from these fools in Northern B.C. & Ontario. And it's perpetuated by our idoit Prime Minister All you have you do .. Is follow the money ..

Will grow tired. We are tired about the federal government's reluctance to work on reconciliation with our indigenous population.Sorry Justin, we need to spend Canada's money in Canada. Send foreign aid that is necessary but we have huge issues in Canada that need to be addressed.

ConradMBlack We are on the cusp of another great depression, Canada needs to get its fiscal house in order now and ALL Canadians need to start working together in order to survive as best we can, that means getting folks to work, making tangible things of value instead of bitching.

If we let men who think like you then indeed suffering

They have and they are

I support a charity that provides scholarships to indigenous students. After seeing a bunch of them at a protest & hearing what they said, I’m reconsidering. Not sending them to school to hate us.

ConradMBlack A brilliant article.

Sadly, he's not wrong.

Not a big Conrad Black fan but he does perfectly articulate what I and a great many Canadians are probably feeling.

...all because Justin Trudeau set unrealistic expectations for his “reconciliation” initiative, beginning with the Missing and Murdered Aboriginal Women Inquiry, which spent $millions and accomplished nothing. All talk, no action, as usual.

Never heard of ANY country on earth where government is pandering to an ethnic minority representing only 5% of the population & who constantly have huge demands while contributing the Least. It's like some of them don't live in 2020 & don't believe that all Canadians are equal

Hopefully our weak willed and cowardly politicians have read this insightful article. With special emphasis on the fact that people are starting to realize how weak and cowardly our politicians are in being continually corralled into a corner by the radical indigenous groups.

Bird5Ca I was tired of them before they started. The protesters are basically hired thugs, being paid to disrupt our nation. If the federal government won’t step up to get rid of them, we are in great trouble. I no longer feel as though I’m a Canadian.

Bird5Ca TyendinagaTerrorists

Many reserves do good business with non native people. They make millions selling gasoline, cigarettes, cannabis.. etc. Fed up people can economically blockade this activity with wallets. Lots of fuel stations..

We already have

I see this.

free_yyc These “protests” are not indigenous, too many different types of people out there, too many different agendas,

Conrad need to go back to jail he’s as corrupt as trump and his words mean nothing to Canadians 🤬

Agreed - initially it was positive I learned a lot that I didn’t know about how hereditary chiefs and bands make decisions- but now it has crossed a line and I have no sympathy for ignorance and disrespect from those who have started to be hateful and destructive to OUR lands

Conrad Black. Always an excellent source of wisdom on intergenerational social Injustice.

'Canadians will tire of disruptions, and maybe start to actually listen to indigenous people for once' There, fixed it for you.

Canada has tired of Conrad Black... But HE won't go away..... GO AWAY

Conrad is a pompous ass but he is right unfortunately.

Where you been Conrad? The Canadian people were tired of all this the first day.

I would suggest we are there! I am DONE!!

eamorris_ Dominion ... ARISE! ✊🤟 DerAchsenZeit saltaf01 JimmyLevendia Le_Gaul

Conrad is a criminal. People don’t care about his opinion.

Totally agree.

The west is entering the same cultural terrain as the Chinese Cultural Revolution. The disaffected youth at these blockades are growing into the Red Guards. I might make a run to go back to my homeland if this keeps up

Conrad who?

Well they are acting like terrorists. It definitely pushes back “so called reconciliation”. And JT plays right into it like a fool. JustinTrudeau CanadianPM

Black is one of the few Canadian intellects to stand up to the negationist historians and the indigenous grievance monster they have created.

Yes. Sometimes people are their own worst enemy.

We tired of Conrad years ago but he’s still blowing hot air. Too bad the National Post can’t let the dinosaurs rest.

Dear Conrad Canadian are suffering $$ 70 billions for Black hole left $$ 60 billions of welfare=fossil company (just for 2015) 1 barrel from Tar sand cost $ 80.00 We could sale it at $ 40.00 So we are throwing $ 40.00 per barrel X 2 millions barrels a day= $ 80 millions/day

Says the ex-Canadian convicted criminal.

Definitely got that one right, Chiefs and elders are teaching there young hatred, calling others settlers, occupiers etc , teaching them how to use the system, they should be helping them create jobs

I got tired of it about 3 weeks ago, you know.....when it started!

Conrad Black really needs to start using a nom de plume because every time I see his name in the byline I don't bother to read the article.

It's well underway.

Once again, a voice of sense and reason in a sea of dysfunction.

Ah yes, Conrad Black, the criminal who's no longer a Canadian citizen has something to say, right...

Maybe is time to end Conrad Black misery, his papers are full of hate.

First valid, insightful comment I've heard from this jerk in a long while.

It is happening already. My friend said to me yesterday 'I don't care about them any more. They can all go to hell'. I was shocked because she has always been a staunch defender of the indigenous people.

Yup, when you start lighting vehicles on fire on the rail road tracks, i'm out.

True Dat, but the pretend native demonstrators do not actually care about natives. It is all use with these guys and gals. They have left many disappointments in the past when they move on. Not to mention the many environmental disasters of pollution and garbage. Hypocrites all.

You know what they say about canadians. We are nice people but when we can’t take anymore well.......we just get very nasty. Look it up in your history books

I never thought I would agree with anything the convicted criminal Black said but he is right on this.

No, they won’t suffer. It’s all about money and Trudy, desperate to be the King Of The World, will acquiesce to their demands. Has already promised another 2.5 billion.

We're already tired of this nonsense, and these 'Non Residents' and foreign influences are not making it any easier for IndigenousPeoples.

Indigenous people are already suffering though. If Canadians want another Oka crisis and want to lose their 'we're so morally superior' PR with the rest of the world that's on them

Conrad Black is just a nobody now!

Indeed

Conrad who?

Oh is Conrad out of jail?

already have

Rex Murphy: Killing hope where it’s most needed – among Aboriginal youthWhy are people who have no stake in the miseries of First Nations leading the assault against development in which Indigenous people can share? Because the so called protesters are not indiginious people. They are rent an asshole supplied by large corporations that want this project to fail. It wouldn't surprise me to find out the Trudeau connection to Mc Cann and Mc Bain and $928,000 bribery. This piece includes an embedded tweet by an account with a yellow-vest header. People aligned with that movement have made several problematic comments towards Indigenous protestors and communities. See VestsCanada. Stop using Indigenous people in Canada as a prop. Suggesting none of us has a stake is ridiculous. FN claim substantial portions of Canada's land mass. They represent a significant financial and social burden on the country. They claim rights to massive reserves of subsurface resources. We ALL have a stake in where this goes.
