Anyone who applied for and received the CERB through Service Canada and is eligible for EI is supposed to be automatically transitioned over to employment insurance. The Liberals introduced a bill Thursday in the House of Commons that includes the CERB replacement, called the Canada Recovery Benefit, for everyone who doesn't qualify for EI.

Applying on the phone for CERB : CRA People who applied through SC got an e-mail/letter to tell them if they needed to apply or not. If you can't even remember where you did your report last week, the gov can't help. There's only so much that can be done.

There’s plenty of jobs out there and these people could’ve been working for months. The government made them dependent by just throwing money out.
Nobody says it, but of the 2.000 $ received, people have to give back more or less 400 $ of taxes (for each month). For the next income tax, April-May 2021, lots of people will be very mad ad Trudeau. Just watch it!
