Garnett joined Boston in a trade leading up to the 2007-08 season that saw him join forces with Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, a union that ultimately led the Celtics to their NBA-best 17th championship.
“Kevin gave everything he had to the Celtics in every practice, in every game, and his unique blend of energy, intelligence, and talent brought out the best in his teammates and coaches,” Danny Ainge, Celtics President of Basketball Operations, said in a press release. In five of the six seasons he played with Boston, Garnett was named an all-star and earned four All-Defensive team awards during that span as well.
As a member of the Celtics, Garnett appeared in 396 games, averaging 15.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and one block per game.
