Aaron Whitten had two goals, while Liam Nash and Noah Boutcher chipped in with single markers for the Hitmen.Eastern's William Morgan was between the pipes. Cougars' Daniel Levatte was in goal for the loss. Statistics were not available. Sydney will play a pair of games on Friday. The team will face the Kensington Wild at 9:30 a.m. and the Fredericton Caps at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be played at HRM 4-Pad.The Islanders played two games to open the tournament, but lost both games in the under-18 major division.Connor Sturgeon and Cooper Cormier buried goals for the Flyers.Moncton's Loic Nadeau picked up the win in goal. Cape Breton West's Rhyah Stewart was between the pipes for the Port Hood-based team.

Cape Breton West will wrap up the round robin portion of the tournament on Friday when they face the Charlottetown Knights at 5 p.m. at HRM 4-Pad.Like the Islanders, the Jets also played two games to open the tournament, both were losses, in the under-16 'AAA' division.Ben Poehl scored twice, while Wyatt Spence, Jacob McClellan, Brady Croft, and Griffin Horton notched goals for the Thunder.
