Canadian Andrew Nembhard scored a game-high 24 points as No. 1 Gonzaga rolled to an 83-63 win over No. 2 UCLA in an early-season NCAA showdown on Tuesday night.

Timme was crafty as usual, scoring 18 points in a raucous environment that felt a bit like March Madness.

Nembhard started high school at Vaughan Secondary, the same school that Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors attended, before finishing up at Montverde Academy in Florida. Gonzaga lost Suggs and a few others, but Few filled in the roster holes with transfers and talented freshman, headlined by Holmgren. The Zags have looked just as good, winning their first six games by an average of 31.3 points.

Even when the Bruins started to somewhat solve Gonzaga’s defense in the second half, they couldn’t stop the Zags.BIG PICTURE
