Canada loaning $120M to Ukraine in face of Russian aggression via CTVNews

Canada will loan the Ukraine government up to $120 million in the face of Russia’s ongoing attempts to destabilize Ukraine, and continues to explore “other” ways to get involved, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Friday.

This isn’t the first time Canada has loaned Ukraine money. In 2014 and 2015 a total of $400 million was provided and it was repaid with interest as of 2020, according to the government. Russia’s Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov said in an interview on CTV News Channel’s Power Play Thursday that the threat of western sanctions in response to a military buildup along the Ukrainian border carries no weight and wouldn’t influence the country’s future actions.

“We know that the Russian people do not want to see Ukraine invaded, do not want to see deaths in a conflict that should be avoided. That's why we're calling on Russia to deescalate, calling on diplomatic conversations,” Trudeau said.

With Prince Andrew, how can Canada justify keeping the monarchy?I guess I’ve been a secret admirer of the British/Canadian monarchy since my childhood in Montreal. At the age of 8, I took the bus with my big brother to watch the Queen and U.S. president Dwight D. Eisenhower open the St. Lawrence Seaway in June of 1959. There were no giant TV screens at […] When the Queen goes so should the monarchy! Last thing we want is Tampon Charles as King! Too many creeps in the family. I genuinely can't tell if the author of this silly essay means it to be taken seriously. I know I didn't take it seriously. No one should. Hold my beer
