More than half of Toronto’s population is foreign-born — a higher proportion than New York, Paris, London or Sydney — and about 52 per cent identify as a visible minority. But the city’s diversity fades in the upper echelons of its financial firms. As of Wednesday afternoon a number of CEOs have already committed to the pledge, Hall said, declining to name specific firms.

In Canada the black population is very diverse, some have been discriminated against for generations , some are first generation , some are yet to arrive. It's ignorant to classify such a diverse group as just 'black '. I hate generalizations of unique individuals

If a black person is the highest qualified person that applies for a position I'm hiring for, they will be offered the job. Same for a North American Tribal Person, an Asian, Hispanic or .... heaven forbid, a white person. And yes, I've hired people from ALL these categories
