Saturday was a long time coming for Canada’s senior women’s national basketball team. And despite not playing together as a team since February of 2019, the team didn't show much rust in their rout of the U.S. Virgin Islands. (✍️: loung_s)

Even more encouraging for Canada offensively than its ability to bomb from outside, though, was the strong outing seen from some of the team’s younger players.

In particular, Pellington, the oldest of this group of four, was fabulous, finishing with a game-high 16 points as her explosive first step and acrobatic finishing ability proved to be too much for any Virgin Islander to handle. “It was a great start for us,” Thomaidis said. “We’re really emphasizing getting great shots and ball movement and I thought we had a good start doing that today.”

Relying on the sum of their parts, Golden Knights oust Avalanche's stars - Sportsnet.caThere is something a perennial final four team has that others don't, something in the very DNA of this Vegas squad that allows it to win. Perhaps it's as simple as this: They're the sum of their parts. That’s the winning formula. (SportsnetSpec) Spec There is something a perennial final four team has that others don't, something in the very DNA of this Vegas squad that allows it to win: A stacked roster that was gifted to them through other GMs forgetting how to hockey. Spec Easy. They have yet to win a Cup. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I believe, like most, Knights are better than Montreal, but, still ... can we see them win before we genuflect? Spec In the case of Vegas they're the sum of every other team's parts, minus the bad contracts until they dish them out themselves.
