More T-shirts recognizing Canada's first women of health

Calgary-based fashion brands SophieGrace and Madame Premier, in conjunction with local artist Mandy Stobo, have created a limited-edition collection of T-shirts celebrating three Canadian public health heroines of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Stobo, known for her “bad portraits”, created unique images of Alberta’s chief medical officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw, B.C.’s chief medical officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and chief public health officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam. She made the files available at stoboart.com to all who wanted to pay homage to these doctors at the forefront of the fight against the novel coronavirus spread.

SophieGrace and Madame Premier emblazoned the images on the shirts. Each retails for $45 plus taxes and shipping, and net proceeds will be donated to support food security: to Fresh Routes in Calgary, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and Second Harvest in Toronto. “Both of our brands are focused on honouring women and celebrating their success. Seeing these incredible women of science help guide and calm us through these unprecedented times inspired us to do something to help,” said Emma May, founder of SophieGrace.Other Albertans have also made similar T-shirts of Hinshaw, including one in Calgary and one in Edmonton.
