Burnaby is opening several cooling centres amid another heat wave arriving in Metro Vancouver this week.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning yesterday for numerous parts of the region, including Burnaby and New Westminster. While it's expected to be short-lived, daytime highs could range between 29 and 35 C for inland communities between today and tomorrow . All cooling centres have air conditioning, seating, drinking water, washrooms and free public Wi-Fi.The Burnaby Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby also has two pop-up outdoor cooling locations at Civic Square and Kennsington Park from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
