Atlanta Braves third baseman Josh Donaldson has been named 2019 National League Comeback Player of the Year after several injured-plagued seasons. Carlos Carrasco of the Cleveland Indians picked up the comeback player in the American League.

Donaldson had his best season since 2016 while with the Toronto Blue Jays, appearing in 155 games for Atlanta this year, only 10 fewer than the previous two seasons combined.

Donaldson only played 52 games in the 2018 season due to various injuries including dead arm syndrome and a calf strain, spending multiple stints on the injured list.
