Blue Jays icon Tony Fernandez has passed away at age 57, according to multiple reports.

Fernandez leads the Blue Jays in multiple categories, including all-time hits , singles , triples and games played .

More than an impressive offensive player, he was known for his defence as well, winning four straight Gold Glove Awards with the Blue Jays from 1986-89.—With files from The Canadian Press
