“On November 16, Colchester County District RCMP located and seized an abandoned enclosed trailer that had been previously stolen from Valley,” reads a press release form the RCMP. The following day, the RCMP executed a search warrant in Lyons Brook, where they found a truck stolen in Ontario in October, the Barneys River Volunteer Fire Department’s jaws of life tools and other stolen property.
The rural department covers a dangerous stretch of Highway 104 running between Pictou and Antigonish Counties. The campaign by the department to raise awareness of the high number of fatalities on the stretch of road led in part to the twinning of the highway, which is nearing completion.
