A Red Deer, Alta., restaurant was ordered to close after an investigation found staff were not asking for proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test and instead accepting dog photos from customers to dine inside, Alberta Health Services said.

In an order written to The Granary's owners, Patrick Malkin and Rachael Willie, AHS said it received complaints that restaurant staff had allowed customers to dine in after they showed a picture of a dog and ID.

Then, on Jan. 11, AHS said two test shoppers at separate times were able to enter The Granary after they showed a picture of a dog instead of their QR codes. "In both instances, facility staff used a tablet to make it appear as if they were scanning a QR code when in fact the staff member was presented with a photograph of a dog," the AHS order reads. "The staff member then proceeded to ask the test shopper for personal identification and offered dine in services."

The order asked the owners to close the restaurant, submit a written commitment to Alberta's Restrictions Exemption Program, and train staff to ask for proof of vaccination or a negative test. The restaurant isn't allowed to reopen until after a hearing with AHS where the owners must demonstrate understanding of the health restrictions program.

As part of the Restrictions Exemption Program, businesses such as restaurants and bars must ask Albertans 12 and older to show proof of vaccination, a negative test taken within 72 hours or a medical exemption.

Since we already know worldwide that these vaccinations don’t work, what is the point? It’s just another set of leftwing city officials bringing in North Korean communism at the expense of working Canadians. Calgary is turned is a shit hole

Man, Alberta is getting to be more like Texas every day.

What better prevents the spread of covid? Cc: ComradeVero

This is a precursor to the usage of NFTs as currency and identification

Do teenage staff really have an agenda regarding letting in unvaxed diners unless directed to do so by...oh someone like owner Patrick Malkin who has already publicly lamented government restrictions on him running his business anyway he wants to run it? But yeah, staff....

Dog pictures? How dare you! Cat pictures on the other hand would be fine. woof

I hope they get fined big time. So much that it puts them out of business.

There's got to be a joke about cathmckenna in here somewhere?

I bet they took this too

'We should Ban the unvaccinated from having dogs now' -somebody somewhere

Death and cancelled surgery is so funny to antivaxxers! Good people on both sides !

The interesting thing is you don’t need to show your vax papers to get into a hospital

Passport are now useless and even more ridiculous.

Follow the friggin rules

Golden.

hahaha...you know the staff doesn't have to be vaxxed right? Just the people eating there. Is a sham.

The Texas of Canada.

If dogs could talk, they would be outraged by this by this clear abuse of their likeness being used to circumvent the law. Even dogs need vaccines to play with other dogs 😜

Maybe they were looking for new menu items.

“Frrreeeee-duuuumb!”

imagine still enforcing proof of vaccination when the data clearly shows the vaccine has zero effect on getting or transmitting the virus. But then again, it does make sense when you consider it has never been about public health

More of this please. Dog pictures are just as useful at slowing covid as vax mandates ✌🏼

B.C. school boards to report staff vaccinationsB.C. school boards are now required to record staff COVID-19 vaccination status, ask for proof, a public health order posted Monday says. We've become obsessed with vaccination - they're effective, they keep vulnerable people out of the hospital, I got the doses, but we're losing our minds with this stuff - the goal should be to not have to do any of this in future and this was not done before why That's the very least that should be required of anyone in the school system. It's of no use putting in air purifiers, screens and wearing masks if the teacher, the food server in the cafeteria, or a number of kids are not vaccinated.
