Mountie sentenced to 15 months probation after assaulting in-custody Indigenous manA Mountie has been sentenced to 15 months probation for a 2017 assault of an in-custody Indigenous man. Glad they got this on video, most of the time the RCMP do this and get away with it scott free. If the positions were reversed the indigenous man, if an officer, would have received more of a prison sentence. The white RCMP officer should be fired after he completes his measly sentence. If I were an Indigenous person living in Alberta, I would be eternally terrified of the police. I would never feel safe. I would wear a body-cam every time I stepped out the door.
