Mature students over the age of 21 have a variety of options at Adult Day School

If you are a mature student who is 21 years of age or older, a secondary school diploma may be closer than you think.

Rainbow District School Board’s Adult Day School, located at Sudbury Secondary School, offers free high school credit courses for adult learners. Several options are available to students, including credit courses blending individualized, teacher-led and e-Learning formats of instruction; Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition and Mature Student Evaluation ; formal evaluation and credit-granting processes for mature students; and an adult Co-operative Education program that grants credits in conjunction with on-the-job work experience.

“The Adult Day School prepares students for apprenticeships, college, university or the world of work,” said Principal Heather Downey. “These learning opportunities are offered on a continuous in-take basis from September to June. “Students can design their own flexible timetable, and can attend classroom or co-operative education during various times throughout the day, making the Adult Day School an ideal place for mature students.”To register, visit the Adult Day School Office at Sudbury Secondary School’s Davidson Street entrance or phone 705-675-5481, ext. 7308
