By making a shameless grab for every last taxpayer dollar they can in the middle of a crisis, political parties have helped draw some long-overdue attention to the rigged system they’ve been exploi…

When news broke that four federal political parties had applied for taxpayer support from the emergency wage subsidy program, which was intended to support struggling businesses, it fell to the leader of the Bloc Québécois, of all people, to say the obvious.

Thankfully, all four Conservative leadership candidates — who are actually looking for support from ordinary Canadians right now — came out against the subsidy and at least two specifically pledged that if elected leader, they would ensure the subsidy was paid back. To answer that, it’s worth a quick look at just how privileged political parties are compared to any other organization when it comes to ongoing subsidies.

This tax credit has meant that since 2016, federal political parties have received $145 million in taxpayer subsidies, or an average of $29 million per year. Add to this the more than $100 million that the parties and their official candidates received in expense reimbursements for the 2015 federal election . The result of all these subsidies is that all taxpayers end up paying for political parties, whether they want to or not.

Guess he thinks that not all employees should be able to use this government program. Question- what other employees does he want excluded.

On past mps and even current ones, the pension plan alone for them is hindered of millions of dollarslet alone a single mp between his 183K plus salary ,his staff both in the riding and Ottawa, cost us about 1m a year. Nice that a politician only has to work 6yrs to get a pension

So he's ok with making deals with the liberals and long as there is something beneficial for Quebec. I can't even call him a hypocrite, he makes no bones where his loyalty lies. His openess is honesty refreshing, I still don't like him, but he has my respect.

How about the politicians take a pay cut like the rest of us?

Zuckerberg Says Social Media Giants Shouldn't Be In Position To Fact-Check UsersWhen asked about Twitter's fact-checking of President Trump, Zuckerberg said Facebook shouldn’t be “the arbiter of truth.” But it is. I once believed that truth was the kind of thing that was important to protect and nurture. But now this chud and others like him sit on the huge mountains of cash they've made telling us that they won't give up their profits for truth. That they won't even try. That's pretty spineless. Par for the course for Facebook. The platform is full of BS peddlers.
