A 14-year-old girl was shot and killed by her brother, who was making and selling guns, Georgia sheriff says

has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his 14-year-old sister with one of his own homemade firearms, according to the Douglas County, Georgia, Sheriff's Office.

The Douglas County District Attorney's Office is waiting for the investigation to be turned over to prosecutors before making a decision on final charges, District Attorney Dalia Racine said Wednesday. According to the news release from the sheriff's office, people at the home tried to transport Kyra to the hospital but stopped at a gas station, where they were met by EMTs and sheriff's deputies. Kyra was taken to a hospital where she was confirmed dead of her injuries.

"He's selling those weapons on the streets of Douglas County, Carroll County, Atlanta -- everywhere," the sheriff said.

Parents should be charged with felony murder as well, allowing they 13 year old son to make and sell ghost guns.

I don't understand how anyone's shocked & surprised by something like this happening. Had it occurred anywhere else this would've been shocking. But this is the US, the land of gun lovers where after the massacre at Sandy Hook all they could muster were thoughts and prayers.

If you can't handle a gun properly then you should not own one.

So sad, and where are the parents? I firmly believe that parents of these kids (and any other kids that kill as as example the recent school shooting) should be charged with murder as well.

Mother should be charged as well- how does a young child spend time at home making guns and a parent either doesnt notice this or allows this?

This is sadly happens when you have a country with an out of control gun culture. The slaughtering of innocent young people will continue while adults sit by and do nothing to limit the proliferation of illegal guns and now, 'ghost guns'. What a sad indictment of the U.S.
