"Don't hide behind the 'members will choose the candidate rubbish', as you were the only ones saying such lines.", was sent to Mr McCormack after Mr Barilaro's declaration that he would not contest the Eden-Monaro byelection for the Nationals."To feel threatened by me clearly shows you have failed your team and failed as a leader. You will never be acknowledged by me as our leader. You aren't. You never will be," the message said.

"The Nats had a chance to create history, to change momentum, and you had a candidate that was prepared to risk everything to make it happen.A source close to Mr Barilaro confirmed the Deputy Premier had sent the message and said the federal leader's attitude played a "big part" in Mr Barilaro's decision.

AlexSmithSMH Barilaro did not canvas or caucus for the candidature! This is bizarre. Barilaro is learning that it’s a big step up from State to Federal politics.

AlexSmithSMH Is it any wonder McCormack doesn’t want Barilaro in Canberra? Berejiklian was obviously keen for him to move on too.

AlexSmithSMH Neither man strikes me as having integrity.

AlexSmithSMH What has Barilaro ever done, other than promote the NRL?

AlexSmithSMH Barilaro... Constance... Constance... Barilaro... what a couple of spivs with spivvy clothes and spivvy haircuts (same ‘hairdresser’?) who have ridden uncaring and rough-shod over countless ordinary people to get their inappropriate budget-blown projects through. Forget ‘em!

AlexSmithSMH I once witnessed a fight between two rats!

AlexSmithSMH Take your dummy and go home , the biggest waste of space in the universe, Nationals in charge of ruining the environment. Take more water out of the rivers than should be allowed, for his rich mates cotton farmers. JohnBarilaroMP
