Urgent remediation works are required to prevent 'structural failure' at the troubled Mascot Towers building in Sydney's south as existing cracks widen and new cracks emerge, residents are being told

The structural engineer said there was an "urgent need" to address the weakened capacity of the eroded soil to handle the extra load of propping that had been installed to brace the building.

The notice to residents said they would no longer be able to access their units during escorted visits after Thursday evening because the block was being handed over to the builders.Mascot Towers apartment owner Brian Tucker said residents were in a "lose-lose situation".Another resident, who asked not to be named, said the building was "like a ghost town" when they visited recently.

Labor's building reform spokeswoman Yasmin Catley accused Better Regulation Minister Kevin Anderson of being "asleep at the wheel while Mascot Towers owners are living through a nightmare". "They are not asking for anything other than low-interest loans, which Labor and the government's own Building Commissioner have considered to be a reasonable solution."

There's no airport border 'crisis', only management failures at Home AffairsThe Australian Government is failing to manage the refugee-processing system, and it's leading to long delays and backlogs. Any material that the ABC source from 'The Constipation' is automatically suspect as they have a blatant bias and a publicly stated policy of punishing and censoring 'wrongthink', therefore as a matter of principle they should not ever be consulted on any public matter. The only thing an enquiry would find is efficiency dividends. the abuse of the appeals process wouldn't have anything to do with this of course?
