Mrs Engler said before she left for work, she closed the bathroom door and blocked any gaps with a towel to prevent the snake from entering the rest of the house.She contacted a snake catcher who couldn't find the reptile and told her it had most likely travelled down through the water pipes.
Mrs Engler, from Germany, said she noticed a snake outside her property the following day. She suspects it's the same one. "I texted my landlord and asked him if this is normal because I have never seen anything like that before," she said. Mrs Engler previously ran a business in the centre of Cairns which closed when the street she worked from was shut down for more than a year.some good publicity.
"Maybe this is a blessing in a toilet," she joked, before adding that she hopes another snake doesn't pay her surprise visit.
