NSW's COVID-19 lockdown could end for fully vaccinated people a week early, with Premier Gladys Berejiklian saying she is "confident" her state will reach its 70 per cent immunisation target ahead of schedule.The bulk of vaccinations are given by GPsA suite of social-distancing restrictions will lift for fully vaccinated citizens the Monday after 70 per cent of NSW's population aged over 16 is fully inoculated.
However, Ms Berejiklian yesterday said: "We're looking forward to getting to 70 per cent and given how our vaccination rate is going, we're more and more confident that the date where we might hit double dose could be earlier." However, the analysis shows it's possible that milestone could be reached as early as October 8 as the number of people getting their second jab goes up, and the amount of people getting their first dose decreases.
