Opinion: Australians who want stronger action on climate change have been watching Scott Morrison walk so carefully around the subject that it seems like he may never get to a destination | CroweDM

Australians who want stronger action on climate change have been watching Scott Morrison walk so carefully around the subject this week that it seems like he may never get to a destination.

One moment during his trip to Europe left Nationals fearing a plan to blindside them in the party room. It came in the Downing Street garden when the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, seemed utterly sure about where Morrison was headed. The fact that a journalist clarified the policy, rather than the Prime Minister, did not allay the concerns among the Nationals. It fuelled them. There is no way to avoid a flashpoint. Morrison, who is now headed for two weeks in quarantine at The Lodge, will need to get on the phone to colleagues to try to stop it getting too explosive. One danger is that a split turns into a spill – not for Morrison, but his Deputy Prime Minister.

Jones, who has mocked McCormack from the Sky studio all week, ended the interview with praise for McKenzie: “You are the hope of the side.” Nationals say her remarks sum up a majority view in their party room. This means McCormack puts his job at risk if he gives way to Morrison on climate. His stated position is that the Nationals do not embrace net zero. While there is room for a deal, it would not be easy to reach.

Morrison was never going to reveal his hand at the G7. That moment will wait until closer to the United Nations climate summit in Glasgow in November. The debate at the UN will be about 2030, too, because the government’s target for that year is a cut of 26 to 28 per cent, roughly half that of United States President Joe Biden.

CroweDM I suspect christian interests own coal reserves globally. The fundamentalist christian polish government is also staunchly opposed to discontinuing the use of coal as is evangelical USA.

It's the third round of no-strings-attached donations the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has made. STORY: 9News Can you really praise someone for extracting so much rent from the system and then giving it back to ameliorate the pain the system creates. Jeff did not deserve her. I'm guessing the money came from Jeff Bezos who got it through government handouts during the world largest wealth transfer while leaving millions unemployed, homeless and starving.
