With many advocacy groups saying COVID-19 is fuelling racism, victims are being urged to report any kind of racist attack. But without a national reporting system, processes are often confusing, leaving most incidents unaddressed and uncounted.

Preliminary results of the survey showed about 85 per cent of respondents did not notify police.

"[There were] stories of respondents taking a jog in the park and somebody just yelling at them … [Or] getting yelled at from a car.
