Breaking: Company chiefs could be hauled before a new federal inquiry into wage theft under Senate plans to investigate scandals in a forum similar to a committee which called bank chief executives to account

, a scandal he blamed on "being creative and focused on opening more restaurants" without having proper back-office systems in place."We will take the inquiry wherever it can go in the terms of reference," Senator Gallacher told"We won't be shy about calling any and all chief executives if they've got a problem.

Senator Gallacher said the rise of "one touch payroll" software would be important to the inquiry because employers were blaming complexity for failing to pay proper entitlements. The Morrison government opposed the inquiry, with Liberal senator Jonathon Duniam saying the government had "zero tolerance" when it came to worker exploitation but "having yet another talkfest" was entirely unnecessary.

'You can't take a TV down a mine:' Why ABC matters at the OlympicsFormer ABC commentator Gerry Collins, a veteran of six Games, can't believe the broadcaster won't be there to call the great Olympic moments next year | phillutton78 phillutton78 The only thing that is surprising about ABCaustralia not taking up the non-commercial broadcast rights is why people are surprised. With the coalition’s outright cuts, efficiency dividends & budget freeze something has to give. Tell your coalition MP to restore funding. phillutton78 They can still show domestic soccer club games every weekend. Burget cuts don’t account for the massive increase in coverage of one particular sport on the ABC. A sport that is supposedly the biggest in the world yet needs taxpayer dollars to get it on FTA TV. phillutton78 Time to remove the ABC Board. They have been infiltrated by leftists and minority groups.
