Warner, Harris hit with short-ball barrage before Gabba Test | samphillips06

Australia's third opening partnership of the summer was given a short-ball workout on Thursday in anticipation of a typically fast, bouncy Gabba pitch greeting the two teams in Friday's series decider.

Warner was clearly well below 100 per cent while batting in the SCG Test and while none of the batsmen were running between the wickets on a hot, humid Brisbane morning, he didn't show any signs of suffering from the groin injury which kept him out of the first two Tests. The 34-year-old appeared to be back to his best, playing a full array of shots during a 45-minute stint at the crease.

After waiting longer than expected for Cameron Green to finish his work, Harris was given a quick pep talk by coach Justin Langer before a short-ball workout from assistant coach Matthew Mott and his Sidearm started.

samphillips06 Pat Cummins must have been bowling. That's all he seems to be able to bowl these days. No chance of practising a yorker.
