West Australians will soon be able to receive COVID-19 vaccinations at some Bunnings stores, as the WA government sets up pop-up clinics across the state.

A repurposed police 'booze bus' will become a mobile clinicPremier Mark McGowan said six or seven pop-up clinics would be set up at the hardware stores from the weekend of November 6 and 7."These will be set up shortly — as soon as we can get the logistics in place — and they'll be capable of administering at least 250 vaccinations per day," Mr McGowan said.

"It basically means that for those people who are time-poor — especially your tradies — they can come to Bunnings, pick up the goods from suppliers, get vaccinated at the same time and be on their way."As part of an initiative to get people in harder-to-reach areas vaccinated, WA Vaccine Commander Chris Dawson introduced a re-purposed 'booze bus', which he said had already been used to administer 200 vaccines in Katanning and Brunswick, in the state's south.

Under the program, police will use three vehicles — including the re-purposed 'vax bus', a caravan and a smaller bus.In addition, Mr McGowan said more state-run, pop-up vaccination clinics would be set up in coming weeks, including one in Carramar Village Shopping Centre, set to open on October 25.Mr McGowan said plans were in place to open clinics in Mandurah, Ellenbrook and Canning Vale from early November.

These were in addition to clinics already open across more than 100 locations in WA, including community vaccination clinics at Armadale Central Shopping Centre, The Square Mirrabooka, Centrepoint Midland Shopping Centre, Claremont Showgrounds, Kwinana Super Centre, the Perth Convention Centre and Lakeside Joondalup.

The Premier said 75.1 per cent of West Australians aged 12 and over had received one vaccine dose, and 57.1 per cent had received two doses. Two active cases are being monitored in hotel quarantine

WOW now thats inventive 😂😂😂

Will it be next to the sausage sizzle and sugar drinks stand? Can work on comorbidities and safety at the same time!

Didn't work in Queensland so it can fail just as bad in WA

Get a snag with your jab!

WA Premier Mark McGowan has done nothing to stop the 55,000 annual deaths caused by the top 5 chronic diseases ( attached ) or the 18,000 malpractice deaths caused by government health workers yet he's gone crazy on covid which has never killed 1 healthy Australian! Why? auspol

Neither action nor speed are attributes of WA when it comes to vaccine

Should have commenced doing this when NSW and Vic went into lockdown. WA - Wait Awhile.

Just give a date for opening the borders and your vaccine rate with start moving quicker

The only thing that could coax WA people is a Bunning snag lol

I know WA is behind all the other states but this man is behind by at least six months.

OMG. Let’s check with WA in a year or so.

Professor Nikolai Petrovsky from Flinders Uni in SA :

Why are we months behind other states, drive though been happening elsewhere

Only 2 weeks later than QLD.

A bit frigging late old son.

So the Bunnings car park is going to be even more full. Actually given the state of apathy that exists in WA it probably won’t make any difference.

How inspirational…not

Got idea from Queensland

A cunning plan. The vaccine squirted into the sausage and who said Roger Cook was a moron!!

Processed meat, sausages, are classified by the WHO as a Type One carcinogen...same rating as cigarettes....t's about health.

Trying to beat other states by 10% Bunnings guarantee.

Zzzz

Gee he’s quick this fella Qld been doing it for weeks

'Very, very disappointed': WA Aboriginal Legal Service calls on police to improve relations after JC trialThe WA Aboriginal Legal Service urges police to improve relations with the Indigenous community after a police officer charged with murdering a Yamatji woman he shot dead is found not guilty. Most welcome! A good way to improve relations with police is to not commit crime, throw rocks at cop vehicles and spit on them There was a trial with evidence and cases presented. The jury made a judgment at not guilty. There was due legal process yet people want that thrown out and there be proclaimed a guilty verdict.

Minister flags 'announcements' on opening up WA when 80 per cent double-vaccination target nearerThe WA Health Minister says 'announcements' about the government's plan to open up the state will be made before Western Australia reaches the crucial milestone of having 80 per cent of its population aged 16 and over fully vaccinated. So it's only the liberal government in Tasmania not following the national plan. I wonder if the hack leighsales will mention that? Or does she only go after labour states? Seems like she's got an agenda going on. Still no plan. Oh , there is international flights in Sydney and Melbourne , now not opening up at Easter 2022
